My name is Alfershia. I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS and I’ve known for years now. At the age of 21 after a major pelvic surgery I was told that having kids wouldn’t be possible. I have known since my diagnosis that starting a family will be challenging and I accepted that fight. Unfortunately, A few years ago after my diagnosis I became pregnant, fell ill and suffered a loss with a ruptured fallopian tube. Doctors were in total shock that I had even became pregnant. All tests were coming back normal and nobody could really tell me why they didn’t think I could have kids honestly. I just was always hearing one doctor say that” oh you’re fine” and the next doctor says “if you can’t have kids in your future don’t let it be a shock” so I lost all hope of having a baby or just wanting a family anymore. I’m currently trying again and have this great fertility doctor I’m seeing and he’s told me that IVF would be the safest option going forward. Even after all of the bad news I still want to fight for my future family, because I am strong and will overcome these hurdles!With that being said, IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is my only option to keep me safe and ensuring a healthy /safe pregnancy and a delivery . I have been given all the details about IVF from an amazing fertility specialist. The cost would go towards all fertility medication, retrieval of eggs, fertilization and freezing all extra eggs l have retrieved.
